When I (Anna) left my corporate job a few years ago, I wrote a letter to myself detailing the post-job life I intended to live. Reading that letter today, I realize that my planned actions were based on the fear of having nothing to do. Acting on that fear-based intention continued the “crazy-busy” life I was trying to leave behind and created frustration that prevented me from realizing my actual intention to stop, smell some roses, and BE more fully with myself and those I love.
When you commit your energy and resources to change, make sure not only that those actions align with what you want in the short term, but be careful that today’s focus won’t create regrets later on. Resolve to feel good no matter what!
